  118.     This is the second edition of the new Net PC Games Top 100, and the
  119.     first one that is compiled using the votes of many people from all
  120.     over the world. The number of votes we received indicated that a lot
  121.     of you are interested in this new initiative. So, we'll continue doing
  122.     what we started and hope for the best, and everyone's support of
  123.     course.
  124.  
  125.     If you take a look at the games, you will notice that quite a lot of
  126.     not so new games are climbing up the chart, even some oldies are
  127.     entering the Tip 20. The first reason for this is that last week's
  128.     chart was not based on the opinion of the newsgroup readers, but had
  129.     to be compiled in a different way. The games are now repositioning
  130.     themselves to reflect the opinion of all who have mailed us their
  131.     votes. These automatic corrections will probably take a few weeks to
  132.     be completed. A second reason for the climbing of old games is that
  133.     people now tend to vote for their all-time favourites. We expect that
  134.     those who vote for games they played a long time ago, will get tired
  135.     of this, sooner or later. Then only the games that they are playing
  136.     now will get the votes, as should be the case in a weekly chart.
  137.  
  138.     Some requests:
  139.  
  140.     - When replying to us, for sending your votes, please enter the word
  141.       "votes" as the subject of your message. Messages with other subjects
  142.       have to be scanned manually. This is quite tedious.
  143.     - Don't give more than 5 points to a single game (as some have tried).
  144.       Our program really deletes extra points, so you lose them.
  145.     - Don't give more than 20 points in total (as some have tried too).
  146.       The program deletes extra points at random, and you don't know which
  147.       of your games are the unfortunate ones.
  148.     - The Top 100 is not suited to be an all-time favourites list. Give
  149.       points to the games you are playing this moment, the ones you like
  150.       now. Give the new games a chance and don't think of the games you
  151.       played a long time ago.
  152.     - Don't forget to name the publishers when you vote for games that are
  153.       not in the chart yet. Some games are only published in the US, so
  154.       we don't know them.

  158.     When you see wrong titles or wrong publishers, tell us! As you may
  159.     have noticed, we try to name both the American and European publishers
  160.     of each game. When developers of some games are well known, we want to
  161.     mention them too. If a name is missing, just let us know.

  163.     The chart is published weekly on comp.sys.ibm.pc.games and
  164.     rec.games.misc. It will also be available on some ftp-sites soon.
  165.     Those who send us their votes will be sent the chart personally, for
  166.     four weeks in a row. And talking about votes: keep the flow going!
